Default Winter mods: TSP 228r

I want to add a TSP cam pkg this winter. My car has all the bolt-ons and is a 98 vette with 806 heads. Would it be worth my efforts to install the cam now and do heads next fall? I've been doing a lot of research lately and I'm trying to decide if this cam is the right one for my setup. The car is not a daliy driver and will probably very rarely see the track. However, I want to have lots of Hp and Tq under the curve and still be able to take trips anywhere I want without worry. What do you guys think?

228r cam is good for your goals, I run the 228r and it's great.

Are any of you guys runnning stock heads? How much power should I expect to see? So far, I've got Lt headers, full exhuast, vararam air intake, and fast 78.

I'm on TEA Stg 2.5 5.3 heads (which are for sale if you happen to have extra cash laying around )

A TSP Ported LS6 would be perfect for you.
