do i need to flycut my pistons

Default do i need to flycut my pistons

i have basicly a stock ls1, 241 heads milled .030, a .040 head gasket, and a comp cam part # 54-459-11,
lift .617/.624
113 lobe sep
231/239 duration

has anyone run this camshaft before, or does anyone know if the pistons need to be flycut?

Safety is the best policy my freind measure PTV Clearence....better safe then sorry and your pulling the heads off anyway.

the whole engine is at the machine shop getting the crank turned right now anyway. how much would you recommend cutting?

If it's at the shop have them do it while there. They should know how much to cut to make it safe.

I think it need to be cut. If it wasn't it would be very close. That is a decent sized cam with heads milled .030 and a .040 gasket, a noticeable amount of clearance is being lost there.

Thanks for the help, think .080 on the intake and .100 exhaust will be fine on stock pistons?

You WILL have to fly cut with that set up...

Had to just fly cut the intake to .050. The exhaust had about .200 clearance
