Why coooouldn't you use SBC pistons if they have the right compression height?

Why coooouldn't you use SBC pistons if they have the right compression height? Just wondering, if say a small block Chevy piston was using a 3.48" stroke, had a 6.00" rod, and a 9.00" block deck height, that gives a piston xxx compression height, right? So, if there was some odd LS1 combination, say like a 3.35" stroke, 6 250" rod, etc. if it ended up with the cam compression height as the small block, couldn't you use it?
