Default cloyes hex a just..... single or double chain

Would like some feed back on the hex a just chain sets. trying to deside between the 9-3158A or the 9-3159A. Are modifications to the oil pump and cover nessesary for both or just the double roller. I have double springs and cam is 640 lift 242@ .50 max rpm around 6800. forced induction also 15 psi. thanks

You need to space out the oil pump with the double, not the single. I am running the single but have the IRL chain. SDPC may have a few of these left. This was the best single ever made for the LS series of motors and was blue printed, shot peened and hand assembled. The standard single hex-adjust comes with the same chain as the LS2 noting that Cloyes is also the OEM supplier. Two other key things for timing chain survival is the timing chain damper and the harmonic damper used to drive the accessories.
