Default is this necessary for a H/C install....

with a ls1 with 60k on it? new oil pump, lifters and timing cover.

oil pump not necessary... but good idea to replace w/a ported LS6 pump
timing cover ... leave alone... you just need the front seal... (can reuse the timing cover gasket)
lifters ... if they're not collapsing now shouldn't to worry about them... (unless you're putting in springs w/really high seat pressure)

I would get some new lifters to be on the safe side with 60 K miles, thats just me. They're cheap enough that's its worth spending the money to know you won't have lifters bleeding down or anything like that on you.

Ported oil pump is also cheap insurance in my opinion as well. I did both when I did my first heads and cam setup at 30K, but I also had been running a hotcam since like 16K miles and beating the crap out of it so I had other reasons for worrying about worn out parts.

don't think twice-very cheap piece-of-mind parts for any expensive engine.ported oil pump,timing set and push-rods a must,have fun

I will be doing a new chain, ported oil pump and front seal. I will also be replacing my lifters, but that is because i will be running 977 springs and will need to use Comp R's, my car has 63,000 on the clock. While your in there you might as well do the simple things to keep it running strong IMO.
