Default Protect my Investment!

Hi all i have about 90k on my stock ls1 i was thing of doing some mods But first i want to check to make sure my ls1 is holding up stong how can i make sure that the engine is in tip top shape for Mods
like i want to avoid spun bearings and stuff like that
aslo im am young and know litte to nothing about fixing cars should i just leave the car alone or start using my hand to work on it Thanks again LS1

The two main things you can do is: oil analysis (test oil for byproducts or wear) and a compression/leakdown test.

Also, maintenance records/ checking fluid conditions can be a good indicator of what is going on and how well it was taken care of.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

It's time to get those hands dirty. Like he said, check your fluids, 95% of people don't take proper care of their car. Also, do research on here if you have questions or are curious.

Well says check the fluids is the way to go and check your compression.
I started to work on my cars from my first car when i was 17 in my Iroc Z.
So is time for you to learn and do thinks in you car.Use this site is very helpfull.
Back in the days i learned from my mistakes was not internet in 1989.

how or where can i get the oil analysis and compression test done
and if everything checks out i would love to put some new push rods, lifter spings etc to make the block stonger any sugestions would be helpful
i have searched so much that my brain hurts!
