Default What head gaskets?

I have a 98 TA and I'm doing a head swap (5.7l heads). What kinda gaskets do you guys think? Will the 02 multilayers work? If not what's the best?

I was told the 98's should not use the 02 gaskets when I bought my gasket set (for a head/cam swap). They suggested OEM graphite gaskets for 98's.

The 02 gaskets are different than the 98's. When I rebuilt my motor I used some Fel-Pro gaskets from O'reilly's.I have used them on many Ls1's with NO problems whatsoever.

Why would you want to use the 02's?The Fel-pro gaskets are much better.

Go to SDPC and look at the write up on the use of head gaskets. They tell you that 98 and some 99's had a small half moon shape on their heads that would not seal with the 02 gaskets unless you are using heads from a later model. Just use the right gaskets for your year. They are a tad bit thinner also I believe 98=.056 02=.060. Good luck!
