We are currently working on a billet design for several companies. This will be available in mid March. Pricing should be in the $495 per pair set. PM and I will give you a list of WD's that will have them on this board.

You know, it just amazes me how much aluminum valve covers for the LS1 cost. Below is a center bolt cast / polished aluminum valve cover for the LT1.

Total "Buy it Now" price for the pair is $124.95

Quote: "Polished Aluminum small block die-cast valve covers, center bolt pattern. Brand new in the box make by Proform, a GM official licensed product. Designed and Engineered by General Motors.

Durable diecast ALUMINUM, with inlaid GM emblems. General Motors designed oil restricting baffle. Extra rigid mounting flanges to prevent leaks. They come with the nice chrome center bolts".

Here is a set of "Ball Milled" center bolts. These are not GM covers like the above set. Obviously made in China, but look at the price: "Buy it Now" $52.00. This finish is not bad at all.

Again, why the **** do these LS1 aftermarket covers cost so much?

I understand the super expensive LS1 covers are "Hand Fab'd", but where are the nicely finished cast covers in the 100 dollar price bracket?

You wanna know why? Its the same reason headers cost ~$1000+, cams cost $400+, heads are $1500+ for ported stock casting.... Its called "LS1 markup". People are paying it, so why not? Its stupid, but whatcha gonna do?

teh LT1 valve covers, and SBC valve covers, are due to large volumes of SBC's that have been made in the last 30 years, they will fit on most of them.

the LS1's only fit the 99+ Gen 3 motors.

We offer the LS1 centerbolt valvecovers powdercoated for $75, or $120 with the coil bosses removed and filled in with an aluminum based epoxy. We also offer fully polished covers for $120 for 99+ centerbolts.

We will be offering machined billet valvecovers in the next month or so. We have not set the final pricing, but probably in the neighborhood of $300. We will also offer custom engraving etc. for the tops. The initial release will probably be just smooth polished covers. We plan to make the first sets without PVC connections so the LS6 PVC (which I recommend anyway) would need to be done. Or just use a breather on top of the valvecover. We hope to have pictures of the prototype in the next couple weeks. This will be your best option available for aftermarket LS1 valvecovers.
