Default Question about REV duals

I know everyone bashes them but how many people have actually broken one, how many miles were on them and did they break at WOT or just driving around easy?

I am debating if I should spend the extra money to upgrade to the crane duals or just wait and see how my REV's work out. I currently have 5 to 6 thousand miles on the springs and everything seems ok so far.

I have 4K miles on my Rev 1116s and I am also thinking about upgrading to the Crane Duals.

broke one with 4k miles on them with the tr230. cruising down the highway at 2100rpms. the inner spring did do it's job and held up the valve, but i'm still unimpressed by them. 4k miles with one trip to the track is not very good.

my buddy has broken 3 on his first set, I think he had about 10k on em? so he got a new set of thier new updated ones, and broke of those like right away! so we threw one of his old ones on there, its been fine since.

note the first set was on two different cars, but same cam. (TR230)

I broke two on my first set at about 2,000 miles. I replaced the entire set and it ran great for nearly 20,000 miles when it broke 1 more. I replaced that set with a new set and so far i've got 4-5,000 miles on this set with no problems whatsoever.

I was running a C2 224/224 .581/.581 112+0 cam.

the new ones started coming out around late september, early october of 03. i know this because that is right when i broke a spring and i was going to have to wait a couple weeks for the new design to be finished up before i could get another set of them. i said screw it and went another roote.

So many 918s were breaking that I decided not to buy them.....I bought the REVs for that reason...

...Can anyone quantify the failure rate of REVs Vs. Comp 918s?

...this blows....but I have a mild cam 220/220, 564/564, 112 so this should help, right?

I also never rev the engine too much and always warm it up so hopefully this should help...

...changing these beasts with the heads on must be a bear...i had a hard time with the heads off....
