Default stroke a 4.8l motor?

I have an 01 Silverado with a tired 5.3l motor. I bought a 50k mile motor that was sold to me as a 2006 LM7 5.3l motor but in pulling off the oil pan I discovered it has a 482 crank which means it is a 4.8l motor. It is very, very clean and I was wondering if I could throw in a LS1/LM7 crank to make it a 5.3l with higher compression? Would it cause any valvetrain clearance problems if I use the 4.8l flattop pistons with the stock 06 706/852 heads?

If it is recommended to hone the cylinder anyway for the added stroke it seems like I might as well bore it out to a 5.7l anyway correct?

Thanks

The rods on the 4.8l are alredy longer. And you are thinking about adding a larger stroke crank. Your prolly gona have PTV issues. ive never heard of anyone doing ir but it doesn't mean it can't be done. Do a search on here and see if you can find anything.

Hmmm. You can use a 3.622" crank, but not with those rods because they're too long. You would need to use a 6.098" rod instead. I would go ahead and make it a 5.7L since you're already going through all that trouble, plus you're more than likely going to find 6.098" rods with the LS1 pistons still attached anyways.
