Default LS1 Rebuild/Refresh

Okay guys, here is the deal. Have a '98 Z28 with 80K. Low oil pressure sostopped driving the car a while ago. Looking for info and to see if anyone could clue me into what a standard rebuild/refresh would cost, including yanking the motor, refreshing it (rings, bearings, etc.), reinstalling, and tuning it.

Thanks!

Depends, You could actually prolly get out cheaper buying a rebuilt shortblock. But if you only have some worn bearings it wouldnt be that bad on your wallet. If your able to pull the engine yourself you will save some coin, Ive pulled em from the top multiple times, Its not that bad.

I'm in a similar boat right now. My brother's 98' Formy has some sort of bottom end issues. We're looking into finding a rebuilt short block to swap everything over to. much lower cost than having someone do it all.

Try a search both of you, use the "search in titles only" there are lots of current threads where this has been discussed. There is a wealth of info here on this site.

It also will depend a lot on the quality of the work and where you are located.
