Exclamation pushrod length

Got a 98 ss, ls1, custom grind comp cam 231/236 617/601 112. I have 7.400 in now always heard ticking from valvetrain. I know the normal ls tick but i got 7.425 rods and im gonna try them to maybe shut it up a lil bit. Been drivib for awhile like this. Just wondering what u guys thought on the case. Will a hair too long pushrod hurt the lifters?

You should check the length to be sure, but generally cams over .600" lift have a smaller base circle and require the longer pushrods. I bet they quiet it down, Chris

get a pushrod length checker. they are $20 bucks or less. it's cheap insurance. if you want a quiet valvetrain don't take any shortcuts. i just purchased a comp cams one for about $16 bucks, but i've seen trick flow ones for $11
