Default Blown Motor. What are my replacement options?

Just picked up a 98 ws6 formula with a spun rod bearing or thrown rod or something. Regardless, it seems more economical to replace the motor with an LQ4, LQ9 or a 5.3 or something than to rebuild. Question is, are these shortblocks a direct fit for the LS1? Will heads/intake and everything else bolt right up? What about the PCM? Thanks for any and all input

Lq4 or lq9 can be picked up for pretty cheap. If you want to throw some money in it get a 4" crank, rods and pistons. Everything bolts right up other than the alt bracket on the iron blocks you need to drill and tap a hole in the front drivers side of the block, or like I did, just leave that bolt out (GTO alt brackets might be a hair different than the F-bodies)

Yes they are pretty much direct bolt in, keep in mind that by changing cubes, you'll have to change tune.
So it might be the same just to get a GM LS1 (Check SDPC)
