Default ASA cam with slp 1.85 rockers?

I calculated it and the lift comes out to a .571/.571 instead of a .525/.525. do you think that ls6 valve springs will work or should i go with something alittle bigger?

I would run the PSI 1511 behives.. On a side note, have you already purchased the cam & rockers? If not, why don't you save some money & run Like a EPS 226/234 598/602 110lsa using the same springs mentioned & not worry about 1.85 rockers?

I have bought the cam as it was a good price and ive always liked that particular cam. And the rockers i might be able to get for a steal im having some 243's ported to go with them just wanted to get the max out of this cam and heads.

The rockers may or may not be worth it with this set up. Most stock castings don't really gain enough flow from the .520-.570 range the justify the cost.

I always thought that would be good combo to squeeze out some extra power by bumping the lift closer to what most aftermarket cams run , and take advantage of the increased flow of LS6 heads. Maybe not the cheapest rout overall, but it can be done in stages with stock components. The ASA cam seems to make good power and torque but not great.
If the LS6 gained 20hp from the added lift and even slightly less duration on stock 243's
('01 cam .525 lift 207-217 dur 385hp to '02 cam .551 lift 204-218 dur. 405hp) then why wouldn't a much larger cam (226-236)see at least the same power bump. If you posted that you were installing a XXX brand .571-.571 226-236 110ls I bet you a bunch great cam posts. I'd be interested to see the comparison between that 226 cam set up with AI heads and the one I'm getting ready. Sometime in the next month or so I'll actually be doing a EPS .598-.600 226-226 115+2 and PRC 2.5 LS6 heads. Not just peaks but the total power curve. My guess is the lifted ASA might win!
