Lots of low rpm torque is the most fun for a daily driver.

I have this cam available if you are interested...new, zero hours. New springs too.

Crane's PN 1449551 with 210/218-degree duration at 0.050-inch tappet lift-was a real torque monster, churning out more peak and average lb-ft than any other cam tested. Compared to the stock LQ9 cam, it gained 20 lb-ft at the peak to pound out 463 lb-ft, averaging 420 lb-ft overall. Its 462 hp represents a 37hp increase over the stock cam, and it also averaged the most power of any cam tested from 3,700 to 5,900 rpm. It idled at 21 inches of vacuum and outperformed the LQ9 cam at every rpm point.

The quote is from this article...

I am not certain what a new cam and springs go for but it would be cheaper than anyone elses price, for sure. The cam and springs have zero hours, installed but never run. You are welcome to send me a PM if you'd like. I can get pics and do have PayPal and Ebay accounts if that helps.

Okay well keep in mind if you go a little bigger say 224 and up you will need to run a stall. If I were you I would run anything smaller than a 224 so you don't have to change stalls.

Domt get a small cam just because u dont want to pit a stall in. If you dont have the money for a stall or dont plan on installing one soon after than a cam swap is not for you. I dropped 6 tenths with my stall alOne. Get atleast a 2800 stall from circle d for $400 bucks and a 224r cam kit and it will be very quick. Bigger cam with stock stall sucks dick. Ive been through it and its the biggest waist of time. You will be out of powerband everytime u shift

Another quote from the same article...
Crane's PN 1449551 hydraulic roller cam was the torque champion and is our pick for a daily driv-er.

something in the 22x/22x dur. @ .050" and LSA no lower then 112, maybe 114/116

It will give you some more power but wont be cranky and the rpms can be kept down and drives great mid-range power.

The max that I would ever go is the cam I have now a Vengence VRx4 which is a 228/230 on a 112 drives fine, when tuned, not too noticable but makes decent power.

I ran a 224/224 .563/.563 112lsa for 5-6yrs on the street in my daily driver m6. It was a great cam, idled fine, great low end and good power up top. Was a blast on the street!

This is similar to what is in my car and it drives very nice around town and still makes some serious HPs.

I would say no bigger then a 224 on A 114LSA with a stock stall and no bigger then 22x's even with a stall for true DD setups.

I'm putting together a 224 cam and SS3200 for my 04 GTO DD and hope to have time to get it together in the next couple months.

TSP, EPS, LPE all have well know grinds that can work well

We all know there many people who have huge cams and 3600+ stalls who drive daily, but it's not practical to most people.

We will work on developing cams over the next few months and I really look forward to that time

good luck

x3 on the EPS 222/226. I've heard nothing but good things about this cam and when I get some funds this will most likely be what I'm going with in my 24,000 mile '98 SS. I believe Geoff Skinner and Patrick G worked/designed this together but I could be wrong...

Roughly the same cam as my F11 except mine is on a 114. Im really hoping this is a great daily cam.
