Default LQ4 build options

I have an LQ4 that I plan on installing in an 87 monte. The plan was to install ls6 intake and 243 heads (to bump up compresstion) and custom cam. Now I deceided to redo the bottom end - new rods/pistons. Now if I'm going to change pistons, can pretty much pick the compression I want, should I just keep the 317's or still go with 243's?

Any opinions welcome

Staying NA and yes forged pistons. Just trying to decide if I should buy 243's or just use the 317's (cleaned up and valve job of course).

Use 243's, have them milled while being cleaned up, get a flat top piston with a -2 to -3 cc valve relive, and go from there. How much you will want to mill depends on what cam/compression you're looking for.

thanks for the help. Thinking about it some more, 243's and flat tops, that's basically an LS2....compression wise anyways. Should be good for my build.
