Default LQ4 oil pump question

At what point is it necessary to swap out the stock LQ4 oil pump and timing chain?

Would it be unwise to have an LQ4 with 400-450 rwhp on a H/C engine with the stock LQ4 pump & timing chain?

I think I am right on the edge...but I don't want to go through the swap if it's completely unnecessary.

id say it should be done asap. if youve spent the money to get to 450 whp why not toss in a few extra coins on the small important stuff. the cost of a pump and chain is pretty small compared to a rebuild...

It's not bad insurance but it isn't required.. It's really just up to you. I personally would do it if i was doing a heads cam swap

How much would it cost for a good engine builder to get it done?
