Default impulse buy/ jeep build

so on a impulse last week i bought a 1999 5.3 with 80k on it from a guy who pulled the heads off of it and put them on his ls1, and put the ls1 heads back on the 5.3. after reading a lot on this site about this combo, did i waste my money or will the low CR still work for me. the engine will be behind a th400 with a 4:1 np205 with 4:88 gears and 39.5 tires with dana 60 axles..

what are my options and where do i buy good quality parts from....

p.s. this started out as a ford build.. man what a joke that was CHEVY all the way...

I think I would pull the heads and make sure they weren't installed with old bolts or gaskets...and while they are off, have them milled some to get the compression back up and make sure everything is gravy inside.

How far can I mill the heads without messing up the alliangment of the intake..and what gaskets are the best here mls gaskets getting a lot of talk.. arp head bolts
