Default whatever happened?

To the special crank that was being designed based on the exotic style? There was a huge thread about it and then nothing?

Looks like all of the people disappeared with the crank.
Do you remember any key words about the crank/brand, etc.
Maybe a Yahoo search will turn up something.
I search on Yahoo & Google all the time, and it usually leads right back to a thread on LS1Tech.

Would this be related to your question?
Dual plane LS1 crank/scroll down a bit and you'll see it.

the 180 crank is not a new idea...when i was enrolled at UNOH, we had one of our instructors friends bring his 180* 410 sprint car engine in to put it on the engine dyno, didnt make **** for power and blew up on the track...not to mention it sounded like a bunch of 2 stroke dirt bikes on their last leg.

they are a bitch to balance and a pain in the *** to find a camshaft for. the harmonics produced by these engines are atrocious. engines like Ferrari and w/e that are designed from the ground up to have 180* cranks are a different story, but trying to put one of these in an engine that is designed to fire every 90* is asking for a laundry list of troubles IMO.

The 180* crank bww3588 is refering to is also know as a "Flat Crank." The engines that use them are designed around them and, IMO, would not be of any benefit in a LS unless it was an all out one off race motor. Just for kicks; did you know there was also a dual overhead cam set-up a few years back. Some ideas stick and some don't depending on intended purpose, marketability, PRICE, and dependability.
