Default Questions on installing Yella Terra rocker arms

Im following the Ls1howto guide on the yella terra rockers install and I just a have some questions to make sure im doing this right. On cylinder one I'm installing the first set of rockers and both valves are closed. I am using 7.425 pushrods and a custom futral motorsports cam (228/234/.595/.612 113) with milled 243's. When I bolt the rockers down finger tight I have very little or no movement on the pushrods. Then When I start to tighten with a wrench I noticed that the valve springs start to compress a little bit. I am also using the supplied shims. Is this normal for the springs to compress a little bit? Wouldnt that be leaving the valves open a little at all times? Should I not be using the shims and could my pushrods be too long?

Just installed them without the shims and it still compressed the springs a little. Are my pushrods just to long?

First off are you positive that the lifters are on the base circle of the cam while you are doing this? Idid not have to use the shims on my setup as most people do not have to use to the shims. The reason your springs are compressing is because your lifters are still full of oil tighten the rockers to spec and wait a few minutes. Then you will see your lifters will have bled off. And you will be able to turn your pushrods. And your valves will be seated.

I think they are, I have the valley cover off and I can see the lifters sitting on the round part of the cam not the lobe when the valves are closed.

RARON455 is correct. The lifter is pumped up and will take a few minutes to bleed down. You are fine.
