5.3 oil pressure drop, weird problem. HELP
Hello all,
Took my car to the track for the first time after the build and Ive got a 5.3 with the GTO oil pan and pick up pan setup to fit in my chassis. Last night at the drag strip i pulled the logs off the motec and my oil pressure drops as i shift into second, but comes back in 3rd(th350).
I am stumped because i would assume a bad pump but it comes back.
Could it be oil loading up in the head, getting away from the sump? I added 1/4-1/2 qt to see if it helps but it did it twice so i quit.
Thanks!

Leaky o'ring??
As g force rises, [lo gear accel], and the oil is pushed to the back of the pan, the ring leaks, allowing air into the pump = psi loss.
gear shift, g force drops, and the oil covers the o ring.
Adding the extra oil only shortens the time B4 recovery???
Same issue when the car is on the rollers??
Outside the box idea.........

i downloaded motec last night,
how are you hooking your computer to your car?
do you have to have a specific cable for our cars?
or any obd2-usb cable?

the m800 isnt a plug and play setup, you will ned to create your own CAN bus system to communicate with the ecu.
you need the motec UTC can adapter.

and motec part number 61037. and wire it in.
