To many options
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Our 2000 ws6 lost compression on number 7 cylinder.
My options are: rebuild what we have, car has 120k on it
But it has arp head bolts so I don't know if it has been
honed once already or not. Option 2 just put a low mile lq4
with a cam in it. Option 3 I have a complete 1998 ls1 with a knock
That I could build for it?? The car is a dd that will see the track
a couple of times each year.. Just not sure which route to take?

If it were Me first I'd decide exactly what I wanted out of My engine , Stock power and reliability , or 50-100 extra ponies and the torque that would come with it , or ? Then I'd take a piece of paper and write down as close as possible all the parts and prices involved in each of the options , total up and decide . For Me personally , I would probably go with the 6.0L option with a cam and I'd most likely do some port work to the heads . Then later on as time and money permits I'd rebuild the LS1's and either sell them both or build 1 stock and 1 high performance and keep the high perf 1 as a back up engine or something to that effect .

So the lq4 is already Cammed? If not there's $1000 added to that option, if so thats prolly the cheapest option. I'm just doin a stock bottom end ls1 rebuild with the bearings, bolts, cam, budget heads, and the supporting mods and it's already waaaay more expensive than I was expecting. So if You have something that doesn't need rebuilding that's prolly the cheapest option.
