Default New cam, big lift, spring pressures?

Just received my custom cam today. Im not sure what springs to use or if the ones I have will be ok. I have the PRC dual springs that came on my PRC LS6 heads. They have a seat pressure of 145# and are max lift .650

My minimum spring pressure needs to be 150-155#.

My max valve lift is .651

Should I use these springs with the cam or upgrade to something with more seat pressure? I noticed some springs offered by Brian Tooley that I might go with. Any suggestions?

Yes upgrade, your current spring aren't up to the task.

Brian does have great valve spring kits. Can't go wrong with him.

We also offer the lunati gold .660" dual springs that would be up to the task as would the EHT PRC .675" springs which have a seat rating of 157 and an open rating of 471 lbs.

If you're using stock rockers then you should limit your open pressure to 400 lbs or less. If you're running that much lift then you'll want to stay with titanium retainers too.

Thanks for the PM brian and the valve spring lesson.

That is why you are the best when it comes to the LS valve train.
