Default 243 heads and cam swap questions

Hey guys i have a set of 243 heads and im going to order my cam soon but im not sure how big.the 243s are stock as of now but im haveing a local guy port them and ill prolly just have them milled .010 or just resurfaced to clear a cam in the 230s duration and around .600 lift, do you think ill be safe without flycutting? also with 243s (stock) raise the comp over 853s (stock) thanks!

Its going to depend ultimately on what cam you do decide to go with and exactly how much the machine shop removes. The 243s do bump compression up because of the smaller chamber size compared to the 853s.

You could take them to 63.5cc's with a stock gasket maybe 63cc's and clear a cam similar to my 226/230 .60x/.60x 114+4 cam and maybe my 231/238 .61x/.61x 113+3 cam.

For your sake though at least measure to be 100% sure.
