Default 99 5.3l lm7 + t56

I have a 99 sierra with the 5.3l lm7 in it.
What I'm wondering is if a ls1 style t56 trans will fit on the lm7?
I read somewhere that only the 2000+ model lm7s work, but haven't found any more info on that.

Could someone please clear this up for me quick? And possibly (If the t56 wont work) a good alternate.
This will be going into my s13.

Thank you!!

I think your hearing about the first era lq4/9s that had a longer crank and won't bolt up to a t56 but the 5.3s are the same crank that's in the ls1s and the block is the exact same minus the material and a few holes. I would say you are safe the t56 will bolt
