2000 LQ4 swap questions
Hello everyone, I am purchasing a complete (pcm, harness, accessorries, etc.) iron head LQ4 out of a 2000 Silverado HD. I plan to put it in my 1980 Camaro which has a mildly built 200-4R transmission (rated up to 450 rwhp, and a stock stall convertor).
1.) What do I need to bolt it up to this transmission? I searched some and found some people saying that it will bolt straight up and other places say I will need spacers or flywheel etc.
2.) What headers should I get for this swap? (budget friendly longtubes?)
I plan to get the engine installed and running in stock form for now and then when I save up some money, I will pull the motor and try to get it closer to the 400-450hp mark with a cam and either head work or different heads and a good tune. The car will be a cruiser with limited track time if any. I would like to do this for as cheap as possible, within reason.
3.) What would you guys reccomend for a cam and heads set up to get about 425rwhp? I know very little about cam selection so I'd appreciate all the help I can get
ps: I would like to keep the lq4 intake (to save money), I have a cowl hood so hood clearance should be ok.

If your engine has the long crank or the spacer, you will need a flat flexplate with holes for the 200-4r converter. If it has no spacer and a short crank, you will need to source the spacer and bolts.
I would imagine you will need to get a flex plate from an aftermarket unless the 200 by chance has the same converter bolt pattern as a 4l80/th400.

I believe it is the long crank and I also think the 200 pattern is the same as the 400, if not I think a die grinder will make it right. If this is the case I wouldn't need anything special to mate it to the trans, correct?
