Default Need advice on engine power surge

I have a 73 240z with a 5.3 w/ls6 cam and intake. When I start the car and put it into gear, I can take my foot of the gas pedal and sometime it would pick up speed without me touching the gas pedal. When this happen, the RPM goes up and I have to ride the brakes to slow it down. What is this all about? I replaced the idle air control value and there were no difference. I also checked for a vac leak. A friend used his hp tuner and got some readings. It showed no codes or pending codes but the o2 sensors was not complete. The o2 senors was reading but would not complete. Lastly, I can be idling at 5.6 rpm and put in R (initally) it will move normally and then surge to where I have to apply the brakes to slow it down. This also happen when I first take off and at highway speed its like I have a cruse control.

Anyone else had this problem?

see if the o2 sensors are going lean. if they are, could still be a vacuum leak. are you speed density tuned or are you running a MAF?
