Default Cam swap question!

Hey guys, I'm planning on doing a cam swap on my car (along with new springs, pushrods, timing chain, and oil pump) I have done a lot of research on the procedure but there is one thing that I am not 100% sure about; When I am swapping out the springs, do the spring seats retain the valves?! (I won't be touching the seats or the valve seals)

No they won't. What you can do is either have the cylinder being worked on at TDC that way the valve can only drop so much or you can use a air fitting to screw into the spark plug hole to pressurize the cylinder to keep the valves up. You can also stuff rubber tubing in the cylinder and slowly HAND crank the engine over until it starts to compact the rubber hose,( DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THE STARTER) that will keep pressure on the valves to keep them from falling in. I prefer the air method but they all work.
