Fast 146021-KIT with green giant injectors
I had the green top injectors before but they were snagging on the manifold because of the big body. I didn't want to have to grind off the manifold to make them fit so I decided to get the green giants (better from what I read).
I am noticing though that with the clips installed they seem to sit just a little too tall for the spacer.
Has anyone else installed these with the lsxr intake and 146021 fuel rail, did you have to just get rid of the clips?
Thanks!

Out of worry that the fuel injector could jump out of the rail without a clip, I got advice to just add a washer to each of the spacers at the mount to the intake to take up the extra space.

Sorry for the late post but just wanted to clarify after install.
The injectors are the same height but their is only one fuel injector retaining clip slot on the green giant (its position is higher than the lower slot available on the green top). So that makes the rail sit a little higher (about 1/8"). To supplement for sitting height difference I put a washer that was about 1/16" in addition to the fast supplied spacer.
I am glad I talked to Mike Norris about this because I was about to just get rid of the fuel injector clip all together but he made two excellent points:
1. There have been cases where the stock fuel rail have jumped off without the clips
2. The port opening in the fuel rail side of the injector is not completely open, very small in fact. So if the injector would seat all the way up it would not get good fuel delivery because it couldn't flow smoothly.
If you have the fast fuel rail #2 reason goes away because the opening is as big as the port. Since the billet fast fuel rail doesn't have an area to clip too #1 goes out the window. My guess is that since it can only torque from front to back (the stock rail could torque from the cross connection), the chance of it jumping off the injector is significantly less.
Please add any thoughts.

Well you definitely got me looking at my plans again. I think I'm just going to get the LS2 OEM Rail, EV6 to EV1 Adapters, and a set of DeatschWerks/Bosch 42lb LS2 Injectors.
I did reach out to FIC to see about their Bosch LS2 sized, EV1 injectors for 389. That'd save me from using both the adapters and spacers. But I don't know if it's something they resized and don't have good data on. The DeatschWerks have a wealth of injector tuning data.

Not sure if this will help but may give you something to measure against for the different styles.
