Default LQ9 build question

I'm getting ready to have a LQ9 put in my camaro. I currently have a choice between ported and polished 241 heads or sticking with the 317's and getting them ported and polished. Not quite sure which i should do as I like the extra compression from the 241's. the other mods are Tick SNS Stage 3 cam, Valve springs and TI retainers, LS7 lifters LS2 timing chain, LS2 lifter trays, Ported oil pump, long tubes, true 3" duals with x pipe, lid, bbk intake and 85mm TB, and a 150 shot

what are the cam specs? i ask because you might be able to mill 317s, port and polish them and use them.

i usually like and recommend to go with what one has as cheaper to go with what you got. however, in this case, you will eventually end up with 243s so i would sell the 317s and 241s if they are also yours. the 243s alone will bump compression to 10.9:1 and with porting and polishing will net you more for your money.
