Default Higher Compression - Lower Thermostat?

My head/cam swap is probably going to make around 11.52 status compression.

Should I look to running a lower temp thermostat and bringing the fans on sooner at this point to fight off predetonation?

Throw a 160 degree thermostat in, your Ls will love it reguardless. It made my ls1 run a lot better. The stock fan should work just fine, but if you live in a hotter climate in stop and go traffic you can run toggle to control your fan. The toggle also works well while at the track that way you can cut the fan on in the staging area getting ready for another pass.

Yeah, I've head some say their car ran better. Just wondered at what compression a little cooler temperature was better.

I have a 180 t-stat with no issues. The tuner said I was comfortably within a margin of safety.
