5.3 LTR with 150K miles started tapping at idle and at higher RPM'S. Have changed oil/filter, replaced all lifters(pushrods,valves,springs,cam check out ok) still taping. Dropped pan and installed new Rod bearings. Old bearings had no excessive wear. Still tapping. Made a new discovery. When motor is started cold it takes about a minute for it to start tapping. Once it starts tapping if you put it in drive and hold the brake the tapping goes away. Put it in park it comes back. Put it in reverse it goes away. I am at a loss. Need help

Check the converter and flywheel bolts.

What's your oil pressure at? Does it greatly fluctuate? I wouldn't think the tapping is coming from the top with you replacing everything.
