Default Slight Engine Tick at Low Throttle

While driving to work I noticed the slightest of ticks getting onto the highway. The tick is very slight and only with the slightest amount of throttle input about 1,900 rpm's through ~2,400 rpm's. It sounds lifter-ish, but could still be from the bottom end. The vehicle is a 98 ls1 m6 w/ 96,000. I have a feeling that it could be a bearing, but any suggestions before I have to tear the motor apart would be great. Thanks. -Rich.
