Machine Shop Valve Job or DIY Reseating
I have a 2004 LM7 from a Silverado and have removed the valves and checked the heads for warping. The heads are flat, valves and valve guides are smooth and I will get new valve seals and likely get stiffer valve springs.
Considering the above, should I take the heads to the shop and get a complete valve job anyway or is this overkill?

Personally, I would simply clean and lap the valves with a fine compound unless there is an issue. Many shops not familiar with these motors set the valves deeper and at time different heights after which the valve train is messed up. Doesn't sound you actually need to do a valve job anyhow.
