10,000 miles a lot of carbon buildup
I rebuilt my 4.8 last year (just stock) what I didn't do was put the iridium plugs I used cheap autolites she ran great but last week a plug fouled out I was planning on pulling the motor any ways to redo my engine bay and put a bigger cam in so I pulled the heads off today and there was carbon buildup not a huge amount but enough to say wtf now every cylinder had the same amount so that's why I thought about the autolites she did not smoke or get real bad gas mileage so I am scratching my head help please the other thing I forgot to say is I converted it to carb edelbrock 600 cfm and it is in a 1974 MGB

I would think the carb probably isn't quite on the money with fueling whenever temp or weather conditions change. Excess fuel, crummy fuel, or poor PCV venting can all lead to carbon buildup.
Try to run some seafoam through the carb while the motor is running once in a while or use some Shell or Chevron 93 with the cleaning agents to avoid excess buildup.

good fresh gas does help.....maybe run a warmer plug and run a stock or 195 thermostat, carb motors need some kind of heat, or u will be fouling plugs for sure and running shitty..
