ls1 5.7 piston slap when cold. I am looing at buying a ls1 5.7 with piston slap on a cold start up. now can any one tell me is this a good motor to rebuild? or will the bores be stuffed?

Honestly piston slap noise is barely noticeable unless you listen very closely and know what to listen for. I'll bet you heard lifter noise which is loud as hell for a few mins then quiets down.

I have a set of new trickflow fast as cast heads a comp cam thumpr 219 233 duration. with a set of comp cam 1.72 roller rockers. I would like to up grade the rods and pistons. when I get it striped down.
