Default which lifters for big cam

I just had a ls7 lifter fail snapping off a skirt and destroying the roller as well as the cam. Now here's what I have its a 408 lq9 with prc 247 heads and a giant cam going in, I believe im getting one with 248/254 and like 620 lift. Its not a definiet on the specs but I Spoke with geoff and this is what he recommended the specs arent exactly what he said but the best I can remember. Now my question Is which lifters will be best for a cam of this size? I dont mind spending the money I daily drive this car so id really like it if I dont have to pull this thing apart again! Also whats the deal with the link bars? Do I need them?

I would go with a short travel lifter. Both Johnson and Morel lifters are nice.

Whats the difference between short travel and regular? I dont care what they cost as long as I never have to deal with this again. I literally know nothing about lifters so I dony know what im looking at.

It depends who you talk to. HKE loves Morel Pro series lifters. Brian Tooley has had great success with LS7 lifters. The COMP short travel link bars are nice for the money. Johnson short travel link bars with axle oiling are nice too, but expensive. I'd call Brian Tooley and ask because a lot depends on the valve springs/ rockers that you are using.

The 5315's are my "go to" OEM replacement lifter for 75% of the applications we work with.

They are IMO a much better option to the LS7 lifters with a comparable price point.
