Oil pan reusable?
Threw a rod through the block a few weeks ago. Currently building an LQ4 and was planning on reusing my ls1 oil pan. My engine builder said that I need a new oil pan since there was metal in it. I'm buying a new pickup tube and windage tray. Can't I just clean out the pan and reuse it?

Was the windage tray and pick up tube damaged ?
You can take the baffle out of the bottom of the pan to get all the metal out.

I had an engine that defined catastrophic failure a few years ago -- snapped every rod, punched out the block, put holes through the windage tray, that oil pan is one my new engine and has been for about 5 years now.
