Default Fresh rebuilt motor how much oil should it take?

Just got done installing my motor and was curious of how much oil it should take? I put in the usual 5.5-6 and it didnt read on the dipstick. It was completely torn down to the block so im not sure if maybe it requires more oil than normal? The engine is an Lm7 with stock Ls1 Camaro oil pan

Thanks!

Are you using a camaro dipstick? That pan is a 6qt pan and a engine isn't like a transmission whether it's had fluid in it or not.

I figured it out, I accidentally used the 5.3 dipstick tube! Thanks for the help!
