Default Just a 5w-30 & VIN# question!

I haven't had my 2000 SS to long. Just last week I changed the oil and put Fully synthetic Penzoil 5w-30 in it. I keep thinking since the weather is in the 70-80's, and that I made a mistake. Is this safe for just this time. I might have to spank a Cobra one day or take it easy according to your replies. The car has 12,000 miles on it.

???Is there a somewhere to type in my VIN# to see exactly how many there are like mine, or ect???

You may be able to get your production # from SLP. As far as oil..I've always used 10w30. But I'm sure 5w30 won't hurt you.

I never run anything buy 5w30. I even bought the Corvette oil cap, and I am pretty sure it even says 5w30 on it. 5w30 Mobil 1 is excellent, and I get awesome oil pressure. I won;t even consider switching to a heavier weight oil until I get a lot more miles on the car. I am sitting at 34k miles right now.

And how many cars like yours there are....I would wager one. I can't imagine there are very many SS models with no T-tops. Especially not in black with every other option.

I appreciate the your answers on the oil.

Also, I thought the same thing about cars like this one. I was told by the guy I bought it from that there weren't many made just like it. Thanks for the input.
