Default high mileage on timing chain

Have a 2000 sierra 4.8 with 339000 miles on it,engine never opened up,bought it new, just regular oil changes/maintenance.Getting ready to go on a 1000 mile trip, with this high mileage I am a bit worried about timing chain breakage.Truck is mostly highway driven,Still runs good.Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

This isn't some import with a timing belt, your concern for the timing chain specifically is COMPLETELY unwarranted.

Concern for the engine/tranny/vehicle as a whole seems reasonable, but timing chain specifically no.

Thank you both for the replies, feel confident now. I am truly amazed at how well this engine runs with that many miles on it,didn't expect it to last this long.Maybe I can make it to 500,000 miles.

Thanks Again

Wow. and here I was worrying about mine with a measly 224k. I can't help but think back to chains and sprockets on go-karts, ATV's, dirtbikes, etc. and then assume that the timing chain in my engine will not experience wear significant enough to require replacement. I figured it would stretch after a while and start wearing the teeth but I guess not.

Lot less dirt grinding it down and short so less room for stretch.
