big cube motors burn oil? I am thinking about buying a motor from my friend that is a 422. I have heard that the big cubed motors like to burn oil. Could it be improper grapping on the rings or what? Any info would be great, thanks

It's due to lots of things. Piston/rod combos, allowing the rings to expand so that when they reach operating temp they properly seal against the cylinder wall.
It depends on if you want to sacrifice HP by having a better sealing setup b/c this creates more friction.

It is a full lunati rotating assembly. I would give up a bit of hp to make it operate properly. It is still gonna rock reguardless. I know it has to do with what the cylinder walls mic. out at but anyone know any rings gaps numbers to go with

The ring gaps are usually provided information with your pistons. They give different multiplyers with the bore size for n/a, small nitrous (street/strip), big nitrous blowers and turbos. I burn about one quart every thousand miles with hard driving and half that taking it easy. I've got an iron 422ci.
