Need advice on valve spring choice
I'm running an old set of Thunder Racing/GTP ported 5.7 heads that were machined to accept Comp 987 springs. The cam I have is the TR227 which has an intake lift of .569 and an exhaust lift of .563. I have roughly 16000 miles on them and will replace them this winter. Which valve springs would you recommend? I was thinking of just doing the 918's, but would they work with the heads being machined for the 987's?

That spring is a 1.43" OD so it's a good bit larger in OD than a 918, but the 918 will still work with the correct retainer and locator.
A PAC 1218 would also work well and is rated up to .600" lift with appropriate seated and open pressures to use with your current camshaft.
