Default Took the cam plunge...

Finally, after lots of research on cams over the last year or so, and deciding on several cams before (was going to get GT2-3, Hotcam, C1, at different times over the year) I finally took the plunge and bought a cam package...

I got the TSP 231/237, along with Patriot Gold dual valve springs with titanium retainers and hardened pushrods. Was too good a package to pass up...

Hopefully I'll be doing the install in about three weeks or so.

Congrtats Jason!! That cam is even bigger than mine and my car has a VERY healthy lope to it. I am sure that being there for my swap this last weekend had nothing to do with your decision!

Hmmm... no, I don't think that had anything at all to do with it.

Thanks... I can't wait to get it in the car and hear what it sounds like on that first start up. Also can't wait to take it to the track for the first time...

Awesome cam choice! just make sure you set your rev limiter up high enough for tack duty. I need a shift light terribly and I have to get my tuner to up my limiter some more. Sounds bad *** too, especiallythrough cut-outs!

So what kind of tires are you guys with this cam using at the track? PonyKiln, I see that you have BFGs... do those work ok?

And I'm not worried about the limiter... I'm going to go with a custom tune on my Predator for this cam, so I can up the rev limiter myself up to what it needs to be. Or if the Predator tune doesn't work for me, I can always get it tuned by Jason at Texas Speed, and I'm sure he'd set the limiter appropriately.

I am VERY glad I already have my Harlan shift light as well... that's definitely going to be needed with this cam!

I have the same 231/237 cam. Awsome power increase, even better when accompanied by a custom tune. Jason's tuning ability is That would be a wise choice to have TSP tune your ride.
I had Bfg 295s, they work better when their worn, but ET streets work much better. Anyway just my 2 cents thanks for listening!

I've got Nittos right now, so I know I'll need real track tires... either ET Streets or Hoosier QTPs are in my future for track use.

As for having Jason tune it, how long did it take you to get your PCM tuned? Total time from you shipping it off to you receiving it back is what I'm looking for...

There is honestly nothing that can compare to the feeling of doing a camswap yourself, and cranking it up. Its a great feeling of accomplishment. Oh and it sounds badass also!!

I got my cam earlier this week... the Patriot springs look real nice! Can't wait to install it all... gotta wait until the 17th though, since that's the next time I have a free weekend.
