Default Heads 101

I'm pulling the heads off of my car tommorow to have some work done on them. My question is besides getting new head bolts and torquing it down right are there any other little things I need to know. Or is it pretty cut and dry?

You mean about re-installing them??

Well you'll have a lot of block deck cleaning to do.
Get a lot of lint free rags.
Don't drop anything inside the motor.
Use a good Torque wrench (The best if possible).
use the right torque sequence.
Upgrade bolts to ARP's that way you can re-use them in future (much stronger also)
Use the right sealants
A tall thin walled 10mm socket is a definite plus.
Avoid shortcuts.
Check and re check and re-re-check everything.
Drink a lot of fluids to avoid de- hydration.
Take frequent brakes to avoid frustration.
Avoid the tiger tooth sharp plastic POS screws under the cowl.
Good luck.

Cut the tips of the teeth off with wire cutters.

Or just pop them up and out of the cowl with something flat.
