I think the basic list is ......

Solid Roller Lifters
Adjustable Rockers
Taller Valve Covers or Valve Cover Spacers
New Valve Springs, retainers etc..
Machine work on the heads
Pushrods
Camshaft

What do the solid tappets for ls1 look like? ie SBC uses a link bar to keep them from rotaiting. Is there an ls1 specific solid tappet that works with the plastic retainers? Or does the block need to be machined to accomodate a mechanical lifter?

I have been curious about this for a while I just never posted up before.

Thanks,
Brad

I was actually talking to a guy the other day and he said they bore the lifter bores and puts bronze(maybe) sleeves in them for less wear.

they do put bronze sleeves in, i think its due to the fact that people running over .700 inch lift camshafts are having oiling problems.

maybe futural will chime in with somemore info?

I've got Crane 10510 lifters in my motor. Standard solid roller lifters for hydraulic roller blocks. My lifter bores were not bushed, but if you go above .650 it's recommended.

Other than that, Mustangeater's list is correct. Definitely need a stout set of valvesprings, Super7 locks, 3/8" pushrods, and some clearancing on the head to allow the pushrods to clear. May or may not need new (longer) valves, depending on valvetrain geometry & spring selection.

I'd call Futral or Thunder.
