Default 12.4 with H/C TH400 and 9in WTF?

Hello everyone this is my first thread Just wondering if my car should be faster. I got RGR stage II heads, 581 224/228 cam, LT, full intake, true duals, TH400 w/brake, and Moser 9in w/locker. Also Bogarts with Mickey T's. My best run on the Mickey's was 12.4 @ 110.43. Best on 555R DR was 12.3 @ 113.XX
What do you guys think?

Jon. I remember your time was better with the Nitto's. Y... Idk. Your car seems to be faster than the timeslips are showing when were on the street. Maybe the tune from Speed isnt all upto par. Maybe LS1EDIT would be better for you. *I have heard it does better than most of Speed's tunes from readint hese forums for a bit* Go get that 4 grand and back up to HPA today. Get the job done lol. Goodluck with those times. Maybe ill see ya later tonight.

There is deffinately something wrong, unless of course you are running the car in 6000'+ air or your race weight is 4500lbs. Those numbers are just about what my car runs stock internal. With your set up you've got to be putting 50 or more RWHP to than my car. Perhaps a tuning issue?

Previous setup: stage 2 ls1 heads and comp cams 222/224 cam. No dyno #s. Best of 12.08@ 116mph.

Just installed: Absolute S2 5.3 heads, tsp 231/237 cam, Mac headers, 3.73 gears, ls6 intake, bbk 80mm tb, 11.82 @ 116

This looks pretty familar to your car Jon. And he is 11.82@116

Im guessing its the tuning. Your numbers just seem to low. Even through a 9" and TH400. They seem to low.

*At the track yesterday Jose ran 13.4 with a TH400 with an LT1. Thats pretty good assuming its basically a stock LT1 with a TH400 (robs a million HP)*

Im guessing it is the tuning Jon. You said it yourself. ***** <----5 letter speed shop that you arent VERY pleased with.

Go with LS1EDIT or take it to HPA and see what they can do. Goodluck... Ill keep researching.

Something is radically wrong...

As mentioend above... get that thing tuned properly...

The 60's aren't great but there's just no steam under the hood....

Here I found a timeslip for a guy who has almost the exact mods. Check it out, He is at 11.6 with those mods... *Speed said u should be good for 11.6's* Check it out. https://ls1tech.com/forums/etdb_vehicle.php?id=40

His numbers are...
367rwhp and 455rwtq through the TH400 on slicks

EXACTLY WHAT U GOT!!!

Maybe he could help you. PM him or something. Im unsure of it being a tuning problem. (get it dynoed and see what your putting down then compare mods/numbers and go from there)

If you dont know how much HP/TQ u actually have its hard to see where your car is going. I know when we talk u tell me you have close to 370ish at the wheels... Does that mean u got a dyno sheet showing it or ur guessing. Which is it? Let me know. Hope U or we find out the problem.

Wow, sounded exactly like my install then ran a 12.3. We added fuel above 3500 and did a bit more tweaking with edit. I also did some suspension adjustment, pinion angle lowered the lower control arms, etc. I ended up running a 11.7 at 117 and it still has some more.

What have you done to your suspension? Also, that 9" is a heavy beast and sucking power, thats why I went with a 12 bolt. What gears and what size tires...that also makes alot of difference. You have the power you just need to put it all together.

Actually Mooley and Kevin 276 i have a ford 9in with3.50 gears I already tried adjusting the pinion angle. The car hooks very well, I came off the the trans brake at 4200rpms and hooked I have 26x10.5 Mickey's and my best 60ft was still only 1.78 Anywho I talked to HPA in wauconda and we put the autotap on the car it turns out that I'm only at 26 degrees of advance which is stock Also I get a reasonable amount of blue/white smoke out of the driver side tail pipe so it looks like the number 7 cylinder is smoked so we'll be doing a compression test to be sure, also check the rockers and plugs. If the cylinder is smoked I'm going forged then putting tinkerbell to work somewhere to the tune of a 175 shot or more . Or a superblower thats right superblower F1
