Default Plug Diagnosis Help Please...

Need some help diagnosing my plugs... I've got ~ 1,000 miles on them, with 2 trips to the track (~ 14-18 passes) and probably 500-600 highway miles on them. Rest of the miles were in town cruising...

Pulled the driver's side plugs this weekend, and all of them were carbon fouled (completely black and sooty). Again, keep in mind they've only go 1,000 miles on them.

My initial thought would be that I'm running rich at WOT, given the relatively low miles and number of WOT passes on the plugs. However, my dynosheet from Speed Inc showed a consistent a/f of 13.2 at WOT. The only thing I've changed since that time is to narrow my gap from .055 to .048, but I wouldn't think this would cause them to foul??

Also, prior to these plugs, I'd pulled a set of plugs after ~ 500 miles of in-town cruising (no WOT passes); they were a little black, but no where near as black and sooty as they are now.

Based on this, does it sound like I'm running rich at WOT, even though my last a/f was 13.2?? Could closing my gap from .055 to .048 have caused this??

Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, no change. TR55's both times... I'm guessing since everyone uses them they shouldn't be causing the issue??
