Default Proper way to "prime" and fire a H/C car first time, need help QUICK...

The JMX instructions say to disconnect the coil pack wires and crank it over. Won't this flood the engine? Would pulling the fuel pump fuse be a better idea? Would the spark plugs firing without gasoline in the cylinders hurt anything? (detonation?) Or do I need to pull the fuel pump fuse AND the coil pack wires, turn it over until oil pressure comes up (new oil pump, o-ring, lifters, rocker arms, pushrods, etc), then reconnect and crank?

Thanks, Shawn

Seems that you answered your own question. Pull the pump fuse and disconnect the 2 coil pack harnesses and turn it over till the pressure comes up.

I pulled the injector fuses myself and it worked, no way to get detonation without having something to ignite. If you cut the fuel everything will be cool.

Just crank it over for about 10 seconds, wait about 30 seconds and then crank it for about 10 more seconds. You wont be ale to read the guage because the gauges dont work when you crank the car. You have to give it the delay because the starter and battery cable will start to get hot.

Pull the FP fuse relay and youll be all good.
