thats a pretty good deal. I paid $750 for some Bare LS6 heads with a stage 1 porting. I would expect someone to charge about $1,500-2,500 for stage 2 porting, dual springs, retainers ect.

Cant go wrong with Race-Prep, FMS, TEA or A.S porting them!

$650 bucks?? Na, I'd say pass on those.... What did you say your friends phone number was again. Good buy I think. On the Cam question, it TOTALLY depends on what you want to do w/ the car. If you do the head/cam swap, don't forget to budget in another $5-600 for a good tune. Everybody seems to like the TR224 cam for a street car. Those heads, plus the 224 should be good for quite a bit of HP w/ very little (if any) loss in drivability.

WARNING: make sure they are NOT cleaned up. They should contain carbon buildup that is normal with a used set of heads.

You do not want cleaned=up heads since you cannot tell if they were damaged (cracked, etc.) and repared.....most professional head porters like Lingenfelter will not touch used heads that have been cleaned up for this reason.
